On January 11, 2020, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Committee held its 17th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Committee Breakfast and awarded twelve of the most outstanding, talented, and caring high school seniors who are about to embark on their journey to reach the next higher level of their education.

Dr. Thi Tran and Village Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery LLC proudly support Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Committee’s mission — to recognize, commemorate, and honor the memory and contributions of an outstanding American, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through giving scholarships to deserving high school seniors for academic achievement and exemplary volunteer service to others in their respective communities. For 17 years, they have awarded over $360,000 in scholarships. And just last year, they awarded $4,000 in scholarship to every nine graduating seniors from the Lake, Marion, and Sumter counties.

While we are staying true to our practice’s mission, Dr. Tran continues to be passionate about supporting non-profit organizations that promote and fund education; especially students who show financial need and academic promise, and who have overcome obstacles and contributed to their communities.

We want to take this opportunity to congratulate this year’s 12 well-deserving scholarship recipients. Your dedication and hard work are to be commended, and we celebrate each one of you for a job well done!
